Setup Windows Live Mail (Hotmail) POP3 SMTP with Mozilla Thunderbird

I will describe the steps I took to setup my hotmail account in Thunderbird.
Requirements:
You will need a Hotmail account and already installed Thunderbird in your system.
Configuration for Retrieving Email with Thunderbird:
- Create a new email account by selecting on the Tools > Account Settings.
- Click on "Add Account"
- Select "Email Account" and click "Next"
- Set the name and email address, "abc@hotmail.com", and click "Next"
- Select "Pop", enter "pop3.live.com" as incoming server, and click "Next"
- Set your email address, "abc@hotmail.com", and click "Next"
- Set your Displaying Name for this account, and click "Next"
- You should have something like this:
Click "Finish" to complete
Configuration for Sending Email with Thunderbird:
- At Account Settings, Select "Outgoing Server (SMTP)"
- Click on "Add..."
- Set "Windows Live SMTP" as description
- Set "smtp.live.com" as server name
- Set 587 for port
- Check "Use username and password"
- Set "abc@hotmail.com" as username
- Select "TLS"
- You should have something like this:
Click "OK" to complete - Go back to Account Settings, Select "abc@hotmail.com" from the list on the left
- Choose "Windows Live SMTP - smtp.live.com" for Outgoing Server (SMTP)
- You should have something like this:
Click "OK" to complete
After doing the above steps, you would have a working hotmail account with thunderbird to recieve and send emails. Enjoy using Hotmail with Thunderbird!
